Exam Season
Exam. What do I tell you about it? The moment I hear the word exams I can feel all the previous classes’ exams rushing around in my head. The nervousness, the books, the learning, in short, the EVERYTHING. The “Exam Season” here is the month of September and October. But the nervousness starts the moment we receive the scary-looking exam timetable.
My Mid-term exams ended just last week, and trust me when I tell you, it was tiring, it always is. You think you would get a break after it, but unfortunately, I have classes till Diwali.
Exams are almost always stressful, but that doesn’t mean you can’t tackle them with ease. I am a fairly good student in terms of studying, but I still struggle (everyone does, trust me). I am currently in class 9th and honestly, after the 25% reduced syllabus of class 8, the full syllabus for class 9 seems A LOT.
In this blog, I will be giving you some tips on how to tackle this exam season and tell you some stuff I learned from the recent exam season.
STUDY
The only way to not take as much stress is to actually start studying before the exams and not just one day before. This is one of the tips our teachers have been giving us for years now. This is the time we take it seriously. I started my exam studies almost one or two weeks before the exams, but now I realize I should have been regular in studies from the beginning.
COVER ALL THE TOPICS
Even if you are not starting your studies before the exam week(s), make sure you cover the entire syllabus. Leaving some chapters as an option may seem smart and it sometimes is. Only leave chapters when you are 110% sure that there is an option. If not I strongly advise you to study all the chapters before appearing for any exam
CHECK THE PAPER PATTERN
This is related to the previous point. The paper pattern allows you to prepare the type of questions and with that the needful information required for you to appear in the exam. For example, The ICSE Biology paper mainly consists of objective type and observation-based questions, so while studying I made sure to learn all the experiments and the important definitions and anything I felt could have come.
These are some tips I recently learned from this recent exam season, and I hope this will benefit you in your upcoming exams. Read more blogs like this on our website Sunflower-ness Blog
