Ways to Shower Love on Birthdays! ( Surprises and Gifts! )
RICHA'S BIRTHDAY IS IN A WEEK??? I AM SO NOT PREPARED.
It's always lovely to remind someone that they're loved. We might not make the time to do it everyday, but we must take birthdays as an opportunity to do the same.
Everyone expects to have a blast on birthdays. Except the ones who play it cool and say " It's just another day". Perhaps it is, but who doesn't love some extra attention. It's also a struggle to maintain the fun every year. Honestly, it's difficult to find unique ideas that the receiver actually enjoys. However, some things pass the test of time.
Therefore, Sunflowerness brings you a fun list of ideas that you could try for your friends, family, neighbour, colleagues, etc.
1. Daily Wishes
There's always the usual countdown you could perform for your loved one. It takes just a few seconds to type out a warm and vivid text for them. These little reminders over the week uplift their spirits for their special day. A good idea is to start a week or a fortnight before.
Here's a sample message:
Richa's special day is so close!!! SEVEN days to goooooo. ππ₯³ππΎππππ
If you were to take this a step forward, try "A Gift A Day". My best friend's birthday was on the 17th. I decided to make little crafts for seventeen days until her birthday. On some days, I even made digital gifts. On busier days, I sent over treats. . It took little time, but it made her happy.
2. Midnight Texts.
I love to be showered with messages on my birthday eve. I have friends who ruined their sleep schedule for this! They might have gone too far, but if you're comfortable, I urge you to drop a text.
Additionally, you could add a collage of pictures of highlights their life. Moreover, express your admiration for the person. It's truly motivating.
3. Digital Gifts.
Pictures with messages are a charming gifs. There are so many editing apps that'll help you achieve creative collages.
You could go one step further and make moving images or GIFs. Perhaps a short video won't hurt. You've got one day to appreciate them for their year's support. Go all out!
I personally use Canva for these.
4. Crafts
Origami hearts or butterflies and memorable gifts. I was recently gifted a potrait of flowers instead of actual flowers. I think that's a super cool way to artistically show love. Hand made cards make for a sweet gift too! As long as it's given with love, it's a great gift!
If you're more of a affirming person, make a scrap book or a diary. Fill it with pictures, doodles, poems, and memories of good times. (This one is my personal favourite)
5. Send Outs
If you're running short on time, you could just stick to simple letters. They are very low effort, however, put your heart in them. Take a little time out to pen down all your love.
Another cool thing to add on to letters would be pictures. Printing moments remind the person of good times. A hard copy has become so much more special in this digital era.
If you want to purchase a gift, pick something useful. Don't end up gifting typical articles that are meaningless. If they're a coffee person, try exposing them to new brands and utensils. However, a good trick is to buy something they will not buy for themselves. Treat them with something they've been wanting to try. It will surely make them feel heard.
Here's a list of cool things you could gift:
1. Unique Keychains, Stationery, Pouches etc. - Useful yet attractive.
2. Clothing - A safe option
3. Essentials they often run out of.
4. Dream Catcher
5. Phone holders
6. Water bottles
7. Books! (Only if they're a reader)
8. Sweets
9. Cosmetics and Skin care (Make sure it's allergy friendly!)
10. Gift Cards.
If all goes wrong, just show up with a big tight hug, have a conversation, and wish them a happy birthday. Never forget to remind your loved ones how important they are in your life.
