Tips for Cleaning up - Organization

A Clean physical space not only makes your house/apartment/room look good but also makes you less stressed.

Cleaning my house is the first step for me before I've to complete any assignment. It just makes me feel super put together and also increases my productivity. And tbh, cleaning is a lot of fun if you are a Monica like me. Things just feel horribly wrong in an unorganised place.

I am assuming you're in a mess of a situation and you want your space to be as clean as possible ASAP! Doesn't everything feel like such a mess? So let's see what you can do…

1. Motivation:

Sometimes you can feel a little lazy, and sometimes we all need a little push to get started. But I want you to think of the consequences and after-effects of cleaning up and how it feels like such a relief! If my words aren't enough for you... Check out this blog:

*to be uploaded on Sunday*.

Also, please please don’t cry. Breathe in, breathe out. It looks like an unbeatable task, but trust me, it’s easy and can be fun

2. Gathering the mess:

Tie your hair, or don't. This is your first step. When you are dealing with a room, you first have to get all the mess in one place. This step will help you better understand the gravity of the situation if you will. It also makes the entire process easier as you can actually see the rest of the room haha. At this point, please don't get carried away by an old thing that you were looking for instead leave it aside and then you can fiddle with it later.

3. Categorising:

This is where everything makes sense. Create little groups of objects, for example a group of things that go in your closet, some in your study space, some that belong in the kitchen etc. Oh and reminder, get some music on...that helps a load. And for an actual tip, keep a trash bag close, as there might be some things that you might wanna toss out. Also: if you have baskets or bins around, you can actually add stuff in there instead of just randomly categorising. This will allow you to carry all items to their designated place, with ease.

4. Placing :

Ok, this is self-explanatory. Just take your basket or items that need to be somewhere else, and keep them where they need to be!

5. Brooming - Mopping - Vacuuming :

To make sure that everything is squeaky clean this step is vital. Also, changing your bedsheets is a good idea around this time.

6. Clean up:

This one's for you. Go wash your hands, change up if you wish, splash some water on your face and admire your cleanroom for a while. Give yourself a pat on the back, and get ready for the next task. You did it!

Other organization tips: If you want to improve a non-messy place and make a place more organized... I'd say... Declutter the things first. For this, you'll have to go by the Marie Kondo move: "spark joy". My interpretation for this is just to see what you absolutely need and what would actually be of use in the near future. Using organizers is of a huge help. Keep in mind: ONLY ORGANIZE IN A MANNER THAT IS EASY TO MAINTAIN. I've tried the entire colour coding closet and stuff. But let's be honest, nobody's got the time to maintain that. Know that it should be an easy system.

That's all I've got for you. If you have any tips...please share them with us. Also, let us know if these tips helped.

Thank you :)
