Colorful clothes- without looking like a cLowN
Fashion- something that has become a part of a lot of teenagers' lives. It's not really 'important' per se, but it's just another way we'd like to express ourselves and it's a great skill to have in today's time. Today we are sharing our first fashion-based content and we really hope you like it.
This time, we're gonna discuss wearing colourful, bright, bold and so-called outrageous pieces of clothing. Since it's always been a safe choice to go for neutral colours, such as blacks and whites and nudes, the joyful colours have not been in the limelight. Thanks to social media and the evolution of fashion, we're now more diverse and exploring more ideas and really pushing the boundaries. Although fashion is all about you and there are no rules to it, I think there are some tricks one could follow to have a slightly put-together outfit. Dealing with yellows and reds without turning into traffic lights is what our goal is. Playing with colours and making a fashion statement or maybe even setting up fashion trends! That's what this blog will you achieve.
1) Choice of Apparel
Obviously, picking up pieces is where we're gonna start. For this, you've got to know you're style. Do you see yourself wearing a neon t-shirt often or you like to stick to subtle colours? What attracts you more? When you're contemplating buying a pair of trousers, for example, always question how many times you can wear them and how long they would last. You never want to add to the waste. Get the right pieces according to these questions and you'll never regret any purchase. We might suggest or recommend certain types of items, but because it's just favourable to the style. Although we'd still advise getting the colours, cuts, and fabrics YOU see yourself wearing to get the most out of your money: not according to what the model looks good in.
2) Incorporate
The one trick we all know of is - never pairing anything loud with loud. You'll definitely end up like a clown. Going a piece at a time fits my style the best. For example, if I'm wearing a pair of black jeans, black shoes and a black top, I'd like to add in maybe a bright pair of earrings or just wear bright socks. Even your makeup adds for a pop- red lipsticks do the trick.
For others who love colour, maybe adding a neutral piece to the rainbow would add some shine. A red top with blue trousers won't make a bad look if you keep your makeup softer, and the shoes casual. You can skip the accessories or add in some tiny earrings or a gold chain. But again, we don't want too much.
So don't be afraid of brighter pieces, they really can be twisted into a fun look.
3)Tones
The key to wearing two or more pieces of bright colours is to keep the tones similar.
Case 1: If you feel like wearing a blue top with a pair of yellow toning down those colours is also a good choice, if not adding a neutral piece. Maybe a pale yellow pair of pants and a pastel blue top. That would make it look a little pleasing to the eye and not over the top.
Case 2: Keep the same colour family. A pink pair of flared pants with a cute red top makes a fashionable look. The colours compliment each other very well. Just like that, having a pattern throughout the outfit makes it cohesive. Other than pairing the same type of colours, you could stick to just blues or greens to make a monotone look, which has been quite a trend nowadays.
Case 3: Contrast colours can be paired well if they are muted down a bit. A mint green goes well with hints of washed-out red. So you see, our main goal is to look presentable and not be a blast of colour, though that could be achieved too! This takes us back to our first step, the right choice of items. Adding bursts of colours with funky shoes and a bag with an already colourful outfit is hard to manage. But not difficult. It comes down to the colours as well. The below pictures represent what we mean. The right cuts, colours, length make Beyonce's outfits a success.
4) Fabric
Velvet Violet Boot Cut pants- OH Please no! 2021 is all about choosing chic fabrics and making classy looks. With the right fabric choice, you can even add a little colour to your college outfit. Thicker fabrics like suede and velvet can add more heaviness to the look, making it too much to handle. Kinds of cotton and linens are great and satin works well too. Sheer fabrics can be a little difficult but are fun to style. Polyester is also mixed and moulded into thicker fabrics but we don't think it's great for the environment
5)Patterns
When you're dealing with colours and structures, you will have to tone the patterns down. I'd recommend going for solids and light textures instead of leopard print on a pink top. This will make sure that the colours are the centre of attention. We don't want an all-in-one look for this case!
6)Cuts, Structure
The right fit, structure, and cuts can make or break your look. When playing with colours, we don't want to add a lot to the outfit. Keeping it simple is the key. A little structure helps in making the entire ensemble looking more mature. Blazer, straight fit pants, and well-fitted tops make useful examples. Also, when playing with colour, don't cover your entire body with just an array of colours, if that wasn't clear yet. Adding too many clothing pieces may also result in a mess. Skip the scarf.
Key Points:
Don't let your style hide in the rainbow
Choose the right items
Find the right colours
Pair well
Keep in mind the fabrics
Avoiding patterns and textures
Structure is good.
Less is more
