Difficulties of being a potterhead in the muggle world

Being a Potterhead in the muggle world is much harder than you think. People often misunderstand you and your ways of seeing the world. Once, when one of my friends didn't understand what I meant by ‘muggle’ she complained to the teacher that I called her a bad word, and I obviously was confused.

For me, and millions across the world, Harry Potter is more than a book, it is a feeling, it is a world, it is life, it is like a warm home. Like most Potterhead friends, I believe that I am a witch Because of several reasons. I will tell one of  them in short:

I was having an english elocution and i desperately didnt want my competitor to win. She always wins the competition and even this time, she had the same confident smile and her speech ready. I also had mine ready but she was literally asking her friends to take her rehearsal and I had no one to taken mine. I just closed my eyes, attempting to revise the speech but my my could only think ‘God, please make her forget her speech.’ Soon, the competition began. My competitor came on the stage. There was a huge round of uploads. I was looking up, still praying for her to forget. And the unexpected happened! She forgot her speech, I was above the sky. But how did she forget the speech.? After our competition, I went up to her and asked her this. She said that she was equally shocked at this. She had been preparing the speech for around 2 weeks and was rehearsing moments before the competition. Now now now, Harry also had many random moments when his magic showed out.

If you think this is a coincidence, there are many more, but I cannot risk muggles knowing about my magic.

Many times, when we go to the zoo, I try speaking to animals ( especially snakes) but none of them respond. Maybe I am not a parsel tongue. Once when I went to the zoo and was trying to communicate with an Indian Cobra, the zoo manager looked at me suspiciously as if I was a snake tamer. I awkwardly moved away from there and went to the owls asking them to deliver my post. I must be really barking mad when I do this.

And the worst part is when I pick up references from harry potter and the people who have read harry potter does not notice it…… like this particular conversation with a friend of mine

Friend: Hey, you know, yesterday, I had this dream about……

Me: It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live

Friend: who said it, some insta inspirer?

Me: it is said by Albus Percivial Wulfric Brian Dumbledore

Friend: it is a song or a name

Me: NEVER INSULT ALBUS DUMBLEORE IN FRONT OF ME!!!!

Friend: were you always THIS mad

Me: Always

Friend: WHAT!!!!?????

Whenever I go to rail stations I always check on the platform walls….. In case they open up to a new world!! I was planning to send a letter to Minerva McGonagall but then I was confused about how many stamps would be required!!!

OK, OK, I SOUND MAD, but no, I AM NOT. I just have my own ways of seeing things and if you also see things the way I see them, then

Thank you for being patient enough to read this and please comment you you relate with any of these ‘potterheadship’. Thanks for reading this. Read our other blogs
