Let's be Kinder
" The world might be big and bad, but we make up the world. "
The pandemic has brought several changes- globally and on an individual level. Such drastic change was both devastating and refreshing. Some lost their possessions, and some gained a new perspective. Every learning, small or large, has a profound impact in retrospect. One of my learnings was kindness.
We must realize our privilege. I am an average female 14-year-old citizen of Mumbai. I have food in my refrigerator and comfortable home. But what of those daily wage workers. The pandemic highlighted the fact that life is a race indeed. Not with any other contenders, but our own situations. "Who is stronger, your problems or you?"
When we talk about what one might have gone through to survive the pandemic, we feel pity. Sympathy drowns us. The worry isn't kindness though. Kindness is a constant effort. To look through the shades. You don't have to be privileged to be kind. You just have to think of others. Kindness can be expressed in several ways. It's a form of love and care, nothing tangible. When we're all stuck in our own battles, let us not forget that someone else is too. Because after all, life is never a simple straight line from one point to another. It's one bumpy ride. No one has it easy.
When you look from such a perspective, you can do nothing but be kind! Forgiving, emphasizing, and being gentle. Let us be a little kinder to our kids. After all, we're humans. We all have blood running through our veins. We might not be on the same boat, but the sea is the same. The waves are uneven, but deadly anyway. Just smile, and calm down.
Be kind to yourself. Realize that you must treat yourself with importance too. Just like the plant spoils with hurtful words, they impact us too.
Basically, chill out people. Not the end of the world. Live, and let live <3
