My Granpa, My superhero
Dedicated to my Grandfathers
Even though when I started this blog, I always wanted to try and keep my family hidden; but in due course, I wrote a lot of my family experience, stories and tales. Today I thought of writing a tribute.
A tribute to my grandfathers, a tribute to many unstated ‘I love you’s and ‘you mean a lot to mean to me, that I can ever express.
To start with, our grandfathers are underrated. Even as we thank our moms, dads, grandmums, we many times forget our grandfathers. I love my grandfathers and I am sure each of us does. At the same time, I always feel worried that I have never told him how much I love them. Both of my grandfathers have their own amazing stories, both as parents and grandparents and people.
I will start with my paternal grandpa. He was the eldest of his siblings. Studying till ITI, he got his first job as ICF, he used to be at Madras, away from my dad during most of his childhood. Even though I don't know much about him, I know that I love him very much. At 86 years of age. He has mind-blowing stories to blow you off your chairs.
I am pretty sure he wouldn't be reading this blog. Yet, I want to thank him for being such a big inspiration in my life.
Moving on to my maternal grandfather, he is a story that cannot be finished in a blog. My grandfather was all I ever wanted to be. He was a social icon, deputy collector, amazing person, honest, loving, kind, generous. I don't think there are enough adjectives I can use to describe him.
He has studied till degree and started his career as a clerk. When he retired he was a deputy collector. I must say that he was exceptionally good at his work.
In my hindi textbooks I frequently learn about tahasildars (block commissioner) having elephants and horses in their homes, so rich were they. Even though my grand pa's home is big enough, Never were there presence of elephants, or horses. This fact was quite tricky for me. how could the rest of the people have these and not grand pa! i went to ask my mum and asked her this.
