Image
HOW NOT TO GET BORED: beauty and fashion edition  If you’re constantly bored and want to do something interesting, you’ve come to the right place! This one, however, is for teenagers who are interested in the fields of beauty and fashion. Sometimes these activities can also be done during your breaks during studying when you don’t want to step out, or just even as is.  Organizing your closet:  *eye roll* It might be a tedious task, but hear me out. Other than cleaning up, organizing your closet will help you figure out your style, help you declutter your space, will give you space to shop some more, and will kill your boredom! You might end up finding pieces that you adore and the ones you’d like to toss out.  Extra tip: Instead of throwing the items you don’t enjoy having, please feel free to donate, sell,or give them to loved ones.  If you are unsure about how to start, check this blog out: https://sunflower-ness.blogspot.com/2021/06/tips-for-cleaning-u...

What is Stress?

Image
Stress is still a taboo in India, and people choose not to speak about it. We still think that going to a physiatrist means that the person is ‘ mad ‘. forget about the consequences of not removing this taboo, but the effect of ignoring is worse.  We live in  the 21th century, and we live in a world where 45% of teenagers suffer from stress, anxiety and other similar diseases. Many times when we teenagers open up about stress, we are smirked and said ‘you are a kid, what are you having to worry about? You just have to play and enjoy and you are talking about having stress !’. Even many times, we think the same to ourselves and try to bury this weight inside. Today, let's go in to knowing ‘what is stress’,’its symptoms’, ‘its effects’ and ‘what should i do if i have it’   The first thing ‘ what is stress’   As said by medline plus ‘ Stress is a feeling of emotional or physical tension. It can come from any event or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry,...

How to prevent stress

Image
Having stress is quite normal for students. Sometimes students may be overwhelmed by the amount of school work and may procrastinate. In my opinion, the main way to prevent stress is Time Management. Managing time for all activities is important. We should have enough time to study and at the same time have enough time to spend time with family and friends and other hobbies.  Procrastination may increase stress. If you keep procrastinating all your work will just pile up and you will end up worried about all the work. No one wants that, so it is important to have a proper schedule. If you don’t like to make timetables, that's okay. Instead you can choose specific time slots to study/ work. Balancing your study and hobby time is super important. You shouldn’t study all the time but for most of your schedule. Your schedule should also have a specific time for hobbies. It can be as less as 15 mins to 1 hour (depending on your studies to be completed).  Spending time with f...

What to do in times of Stress!!!

Image
Stressing is so stressful but thinking about not stressing makes you stress even more. Earlier, getting an education was for the privileged children, most of which belonging to high castes. That was the story of India in the past. However now, completing your schooling and getting a degree is the bare minimum one can expect. These expectations change to exhaustion of energy. Not only expectations of others in one's life, but also one's own expectation from life. Everyone wants a great life, a rich lifestyle and absolute comfort. But all these needs may only be fulfilled with struggle, hard work, and loads of mental power. This is where stress comes in. This has become common in youth.   Disclaimer:   Sometimes stress reaches uncontrollable heights, and that's when no website or Google can help out, but a trained professional. I want to let you know, that mental health is a topic that people are now learning about and not neglecting, but the wrong information c...

Sexism - A Need To Stop It

Image
Sexism- many times we avoid this word on daily life just because we think it makes us look like an extremist. It is clearly blind stereotyping. Many times the people do not even care to know the meaning of the word before concluding it is unrequired, useless and something that they need to stay away from. Many times, I personally have judged this word, before I knew its meaning, and without knowing it stood for a greater good.   Sexism, defined by Wikipedia means ‘Sexism is prejudice or discrimination based on one's sex or gender. Sexism can affect anyone, but it primarily affects women and girls. It has been linked to stereotypes and gender roles and may include the belief that one sex or gender is intrinsically superior to another. Extreme sexism may foster sexual harassment, rape, and other forms of sexual violence.’ This enough is required to make a person understand that is a part of the greater good.   We go through sexism daily. at work, at school at any other pu...

Its all in your Head (Overthinking)

It's all in your Head I think it's safe to say that everyone overthinks. Sometimes people go overboard while overthinking. We all know how it feels... One thought leads to another and you don't like this new thought. I have personally over-thought a lot in the past few months. It all started when our school timetable for 9th grade came. The timings were from 7 a.m  onwards. Although I have adapted to these timings now, I was not when it started. You see, my sleep timings were not that great during summer vacation. I used to sleep at 2 AM and wake up at 12 PM. Then the drastic change came in my sleep cycle. The night before the first day of school I went to bed at around 12 in order to complete my sleep before school started. But as I usually slept at 2, I wasn't feeling sleepy. So began the overthinking. I started thinking about how many hours of sleep I would get. As the hours passed by the sleep hours were lessening. I started getting nervous. I was worried because by...

In the name of Education ... Before starting this blog, we would like to clear a few things.
