An unmemorable FAIR

Image
Fair… a beautiful event to attend right? It gives you a lot of memories, beautiful moments a lot of laughter, right? But what if you visited a fair and it gave you memories, but fr the wrong reason. I have had a similar experience. A fair that was remembered for something which is not usually the reason why people remember the event.  I was the smallest of 8 children. I was the small boy of the family and considered fragile even when I was 12 years old. My brother was allowed to visit every fair in the town and most of the time, I would have to stay back at home. It was the yearly temple fair. I got my mum convinced that I can go to the fair and I will manage myself. Though my mom was not completely convinced by my words; she couldn’t refuse my request after I promised her that I will only attend one program - ‘story telling’. Even though I wanted to go by myself, my mom asked my elder brother to leave me till the fair. E and his group of friends walked ahead and I followed ...

Music: A feeling

Image
music /ˈmjuːzɪk/ noun 1. vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. Music is a feeling rather than anything else. There are so many types of music, such as; classical, pop, rock, etc. Everyone has a particular favourite. Why do we have these favourites? Maybe because we feel something different while listening to the songs. A particular feeling of happiness, sadness, relatability, or you simply feel that you are in a safe place where you feel cosy.  There can be relaxing songs that simply soothe your nerves when you are stressed; energetic songs when you want to dance your heart out or aggressive songs for I don't know what. My favourites have to be relaxing songs and upbeat songs which I can freely dance to. I also love the songs which play for Bharatanatyam Dances (Those are my utmost favourite) Some of my favourite song artists include Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Olivia Rodrigo. Songs ...

The never-ending questions!

Image
Welcome to another weekly blog! This time, instead of providing you with tips and tricks, we are presenting you with some thoughts about curiosity! Hope you like it and mostly I hope this blog will send you on a trial of thoughts as well.  I remember being a very curious child. I used to think about what existed before god, before the earth. What does “nothing” look like? And who is god? What is a scientist? There was always a blackboard in mind filled with equations and questions and stuff. Today, as a 14 year old, I still seem to have questions. But the similarities between young me questions and now me questions is that I don’t ask them to anyone. I keep them to myself. Does anyone even have the answers to these questions? What does my future look like? Can I make a dent in the universe? Is my education really of any value? Am I a good person? Am I terrible? Do I look ugly? Am I just dumb? Do I have what it takes to do stuff I want to do? When it comes to my school stuff...

need of peace...

Image
Need of peace… *Disclaimer* This is the author’s personal view. The numbers may be not 100% right. We will be pleased to know your point of view. We would appreciate you and your views. I’m fed up. Fed up with hearing the news every day. Fed up with knowing that thousands of girls are burning their degrees just so that they aren’t killed. Thousands of 14-year-olds are being forced to marry 45-year-old men. I’m fed with knowing that thousands of women are going to be prohibited to go out. I’m fed up with knowing that 3 crore people are waiting for help in Afghanistan. It makes me value my bed, where I can sleep, sure that I am safe. It makes me value peace, it makes me the value that is free to do and write whatever I want. It makes me appreciate that I can excess any books from anywhere around the world. But what about them. Who tried to climb on a running plane just for the race to survive. What if their family of whom, a man fell down the plane? This doesn’t lead to the superio...

Bharatanatyam

Image
Photo Credits There are many forms of art. Like drawing, painting, dancing, and many more. Talking about dancing, which also has many types, the one I most enjoy is Bharatanatyam. I began Bharatnatyam almost 5 years ago. When I started It was a brand new concept to me. I was really eager to learn it all and get it right. I love to attend dance classes. Even during the pandemic the dance academy, I have joined, is taking classes online. I once asked 2 or 3 schoolmates if they danced or not, 1 of them did but she told me she got bored after six months. There I was thinking about how could a person get bored of such a beautiful dance form. I mean everyone has their opinions, I agree, but I always used to question that. Anyway, the first 2-3 years of Bharatnatyam are spent learning the basic steps which are going to help build the steps for the dance items we learn (I don't know if this is true for all dance academies but this is how I am learning). Then after that, we learn the basi...

Mobile Addiction

Image
The devil in your hands, or in your pocket. It is not unknown that your phone is a hazard. A quick look on the internet suggests hundreds of websites and articles stating that mobile phones have direct impacts on the mind and indirectly on your health. The phone, invented to portably contact any person at first, has now become a danger to health? Several unknown or intentionally hidden reports have been suspected to have contained the issues your mobile device has. The truth is unknown. But logically, your device has become another world, a form of escapism. You scroll and swipe and scroll some more! The never-ending cycle is a threat to all your dreams, thoughts, and to-do lists!  Teenagers are the direct culprits. Phones have been handed to them to ensure their safety since parents want to know where their child is. But now it's only a medium to make TikToks it seems. If it's banned in your country, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts make up for the "void". Personall...

Privileged...

Image
I doubt myself. More than frequently, but not about whether I closed the doors or are the windows closed, but whether I am worth it. Am I worth this life I have; which is everything I have, had I did not have it then neither could I think this but other’s thoughts wouldn’t let this one thought alone be in my mind. I would wonder, am I grateful for my vision, without which, this keyboard might just be a button board for me and all those beautiful trees and plants, just darkness. How will I be able to describe the view of something? Do I even appreciate it enough? When I write a bibliography to a project, shouldn’t I be thanking my vision so that I could see what I was writing? Then I can hear these beautiful songs, chirps of birds, but I yet keep complaining of honks of cars. Am I being ungrateful? Many just cannot hear, and they simply cannot hear anything. And anything is a wide term. They cannot hear those jokes or the sound of giggles or anything. Though I always seem to compl...

Keep Calm and Relax

Image
My friends think I am a very calm and chilled-out person, but we all know that isn't true (Especially my family). As a person who gets angry about small things, I have picked a few techniques here and there to calm down. We all know the good old technique of taking a deep breath, but honestly, you don't really remember to do so (guilty). I’m going to be listing some things that help me relax or just simply calm down. Breathe: Even though I don't follow this technique that often, it is really helpful. As Tracy McConnell (How I Met Your Mother) said “Before making any big decision just close your eyes and take three deep breaths” Deep breaths just work on many levels. Hum a song: Sometimes distracting yourself just makes sense. I like to distract myself by humming or listening to a song. I know one might not always remember to actually hum a song, but trust me, it totally works Rant: Instead of calming down, one might opt to rant. They wouldn’t be wrong, you know. Just lett...

Building and FOLLOWING a timetable!

Image
Time. Something that NOBODY has. Something that money cannot buy. We all have been through the last minute assignment submission, or have found ourselves in situations where time couldn't flow faster. But all these problems could easily be avoided. We ALL know that making a timetable and following one is extremely crucial. But how to create the perfect one, and also how to consistently follow it? We're going to discuss just that in today's blog.  The first step would always be to Create the Timetable . This step is the easiest among the others. There are two basic methods to form a timetable. Let's go through each.  The first one is about going through your day . Deciding each action that is going to take place at a specific time, and duration. For example, if you start your day at 8 and end at 12, you could note down all the steps from 8:00 - 8:05 - brushing teeth, to 11:45 to 12:00 getting ready for bed. Such time stamps are fixed and dedicated to only a certain task....

how racism is present in our daily life

Image
RACISM - prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.  Racism has been present in India since FOREVER! Even from our nursery rhythms, to our films. Even when we sing “Nani teri morni ko chor le gaye, Baaki jo bajha tha kalle chor le gaye” The thieves are always black!! Why?? Why is no one there to point it out??!! Because it is deep-rooted. hardly we ever realize. In our movies, if we slightly observe the skin color of the comedian and the villain, in most cases they would be on the darker side. Whenever things are about south Indian, only dark color is to be used to represent them. And the hero and the heroine!!! I can write for ages about it!! A perfect white handsome, perfect cheek-boned, six-packed hero and a slim, size 0, white, sweet, and kind heroine. Why is it becoming a standard ...

Mixing Recipes

Image
Since our last baking blog was a hit, I decided to write about mixing recipes. Mixing recipes is basically mixing two different recipes which you want in your final master chef goodie I have tried this several times, especially baking cakes. I usually take the main cake from a recipe and frosting from another recipe. 3 out of 4 cakes turn out great, well only because I used the same combination of recipes for the 3 (Hilarious me). I usually make the frosting with the base of butter and sugar and cocoa powder and so on. I tried frosting with cream. I whipped it and added vanilla essence. It was good but something was off. This cake was also a little more dense than usual.  Whipped cream Frosting (Cute, isn't it?) So basically experimenting is great. You get to know what goes with what and why. After this experimenting I found out that the butter based frosting goes well with a fluffy cake. Also the butter based frosting is much thicker and filling.  Butter based frostin...

Customized Makeup routine!

Image
For a lot of us, makeup is where we derive confidence. In my opinion, I don't think it should be used as a shield, but your reason is totally respected. I personally enjoy make-up simply because of its amusing nature. The techniques fascinate me. However, you can indulge in this world even if you don't have a reason!!    Women and girls all around the world have been exploring the art of makeup and learning more with passing time. Not only the ladies but also every gender on planet earth has gotten familiar with the art form. The world has observed several trends and survived the questionable ones. But the trend of a subtle makeup look is here to stay. Back to our beauty and fashion segments, this time we talk about "No makeup" makeup looks. They may sound ridiculous, but their idea is to achieve an effortlessly fresh and alive look. The reason I say that this trend will resist any change is because of its versatility. A lot of us enjoy experimenting, but we shall hav...
